8. Past Perfect Continuous Tense
पहचान: इस tense के हिंदी वाक्यों के अंत में रहा था, रही थी, रहे थे अथवा ता आ रहा था, ती आ रही थी, ते आ रहे थे आदि लगा रहता है एवं वाक्य में समयावधि (Time duration) होता है |
जैसे: हमलोग दो घंटो से व्यायाम कर रहे थे |
हमलोग दो घंटों से व्यायाम करते आ रहे थे |
तुम आराम करते आ रहे थे |
वह सुबह से स्नान कर रहा था |
इसके अंगेजी (English) के वाक्यों में सहायक क्रिया (helping verb) में had + been लगा रहता है और मुख्य क्रिया (main verb) में verb + ing रहता है |
जैसे -
We had been taking exercise for two hours.
You had been taking rest.
He had been taking bathe since morning.
Structure Of Sentences: वाक्यों की बनावट:
(I) Affirmative Sentence:
Subject + had + been + V1 + ing + object + time-duration.
Example:
I had been learing my lesson since last two days.
मैं पिछले दो दिनों से अपना पाठ याद कर रहा था |
You had been writing a letter since morning.
तुम सुबह से पत्र लिख रहे थे |
ऊपर हमने देखा कि समयावधि (Time duration) से पहले for एवं since का प्रयोग किया गया है |
Since एवं For का प्रयोग :
Since: जब time-duration निश्चित (definite) हो तो 'से' के अर्थ में since का प्रयोग करते है |
For: जब time-duration अनिश्चित (indefinite) हो तो 'से' के अर्थ में since का प्रयोग करते है | इसमें गिनती वाले शब्द होते है |

(II) Negative Senetence:
Subject + had + not + been + V1 + ing + object + time-duration.
She had not been flying kite since childhood.
वह बचपन से पतंग नहीं उड़ा रही थी |
(III) Interrogative Sentence:
(a) Helping Verb:
Had + subject + been + V1 + ing + object + time-duration?
Had you been learning your lesson since monday?
क्या तुम सोमवार से अपना पाठ याद कर रहे थे ?
Had she been being happy since morning?
क्या वह सुबह से खुश हो रही रही थी ?
Had they been irrigating crops for 7 days?
क्या वे सात दिनों से फसल की सिंचाई कर रहे थे ?
Had you been taking medicine since last 6 months?
क्या तुम पिछले 6 महीनों से दवाई लेते आ रहे थे ?
(b) W.H Family:
W.H + Had + subject + been + V1 + ing + object + time-duration?
Why had you been dancing since morning?
तुम सुबह से क्यों नाच रहे थे?
Where had she been preparing for exams for last year?
वह गत वर्ष से परीक्षा की तैयारी कहाँ कर रही थी?
How had he been living in poverty for many years?
वह कई वर्षों से गरीबी में कैसे जी रहा था ?
Whose pen had he been using since monday?
वह सोमवार से किसकी कलम उपयोग करता आ रहा था ?
