Community

A community is a group of connected people who come together for different purposes and support one another.

• Families are connected not only within themselves but also with other families and people around them.

Shared Natural Resources

Halma Tradition

Halma is a tradition of the Bhil community in which people come together to support an individual or family during a crisis.

• The Bhils decided to work together to address the water crisis.
• They planted thousands of trees in hundreds of villages.

• Kamal started giving them tuition after his regular working hours.
• He taught the children from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm every day.
• He also provided them with free dinner.
• Soon around 150 children attended his classes regularly.
• Teachers from a local school also joined the initiative for some time.
• Older school-going children joined as volunteers and helped teach the younger children.
