उत्तर:
चुंबक के दोनों सिरों को ध्रुव कहा जाता है। एक सिरा उत्तरी ध्रुव तथा दूसरा दक्षिणी ध्रुव कहलाता है। चुंबकीय बल सबसे अधिक ध्रुवों पर होता है।
प्रश्न 6. चुंबकीय दिक्सूचक (कंपास) क्या है? इसका उपयोग लिखिए।
उत्तर:
चुंबकीय दिक्सूचक एक ऐसा उपकरण है जिसमें चुंबकीय सुई लगी होती है। यह स्वतंत्र रूप से घूमकर उत्तर-दक्षिण दिशा की ओर स्थिर हो जाती है। इसका उपयोग दिशाएँ ज्ञात करने तथा यात्रा एवं नौवहन में किया जाता है।
प्रश्न 7. समान एवं असमान ध्रुवों के व्यवहार को समझाइए।
उत्तर:
दो चुंबकों के समान ध्रुव (उत्तर-उत्तर या दक्षिण-दक्षिण) एक-दूसरे को प्रतिकर्षित करते हैं, जबकि असमान ध्रुव (उत्तर-दक्षिण) एक-दूसरे को आकर्षित करते हैं। यही चुंबकों का मूल नियम है।
