Definitions:

Adolescence: Adolescence is the stage of life between childhood and adulthood when rapid physical and mental changes occur.

Puberty: Puberty is the stage during adolescence when the body becomes capable of reproduction.

Hormone: Hormones are chemical substances produced by glands that control various body functions.

Endocrine Glands: Endocrine glands are glands that secrete hormones directly into the bloodstream.

Growth Hormone: Growth hormone is a hormone responsible for increase in height and overall body growth.

Testosterone: Testosterone is a male hormone responsible for development of male characteristics.

Estrogen: Estrogen is a female hormone responsible for development of female characteristics.

Menstruation: Menstruation is the monthly cycle in females in which the lining of the uterus is shed.

Balanced Diet: A balanced diet is a diet that contains all essential nutrients in proper amounts.

Personal Hygiene: Personal hygiene refers to keeping the body clean and maintaining good health habits.
